Linen … from a web
24.10.2008 | 13:33Art of weaving of easy and strong fabrics from a web has arisen in the Middle Ages. The web was considered as fine raw materials for reception of expensive, refined fabrics. So, the king of France Louis XIV had unique stockings and the gloves connected from threads of spiders in the clothes. However spiders-nefilly of which web made silk, were found only on island Madagascar, therefore to put manufacture on due level it was not possible.
Now manufacture of fabrics from a web will be helped by the genetics supported with achievements of the advanced researches. The Japanese scientists, having combined genes of a mulberry worm and a spider-krugoprjada, have received a new kind of a silkworm thanks to what they managed to receive so-called "spidery" silk. The novelty on 10 % consists of a web and on 90 % - from silk. According to the inventors, the new fabric will be ecologically pure, easy and heavy-duty, and will possess thus rejuvenating properties. In a ruler of the goods made of a new kind of silk, stockings, socks and female linen will enter. Manufacturers promise to let out novelties in wide sale by 2010.
